“Sukha” (सुख) the word for happiness, ease, joy or bliss in the Buddhist philosophy which says that happiness and sorrow (Dukkha दुःख) are down to individual responsibility and within control. Basically meaning that, in the end, happiness is a choice.
Due to it’s uniqueness, Sirigiya was declared as world heritage in 1982. The fortress was built around 477 AD and is being listed as the eighth world wonder.
The darkest species of the Asian-elephant, settled in the dry zones north, east and southeast of Sri Lanka. These images were taken in Minneriya.
